Robert Evans, MFT, LPCC
I have 30 years of experience in mental health and addictions. I received my Masters in Psychology from Santa Clara University, with an emphasis in addictions, in 1998. I have been a licensed psychotherapist for 25 years.
My counseling work has focused on both adults and adolescents and the development of specific behavioral and cognitive skills; helping parents (Biological, Adoptive and Foster,) regain control over their children's conduct, oppositional and defiant behaviors; all aspects of child, adolescent and transitional age youth behaviors, including early onset of mental illness such as bi-polar, psychosis, anxiety and depression.
I offer help with specific interventions aimed at improving and stabilizing homes including marriage, blended families, adoptions, foster families with some history of trauma. This includes helping couples deal with as well as diverting family breakups and divorce. Parents generally leave with tools they bring home and implement with their family members.
I am experienced and effective working with both veterans and law enforcement personnel on issues the various issues and challenges specific to those sub-groups. I use interventions that work and I have used personally.
