A BIT ABOUT ME

I believe you cannot truly separate personality from career.
I proudly identify as a behavioral health consumer and professional.
As a teen I struggled with addictions. I was raised in an alcoholic family and did poorly in High School.
I am a US Coast Guard Veteran (1986-1991). During boot camp I became obsessed with athletics, specifically running and bicycle racing. In 1987 I was active duty on the USCG Polar Sea and participated
during Operation Deep Freeze Antarctica, traveling half way around the world and running in every port. In addition, I discovered a passion for advanced learning and started my academic career while serving 2.5 years in Tokyo, Japan. After viewing the road cycling championships in Japan I too started racing bikes and ran competitively all over the Tokyo region.
For the next 30 plus years my life focused around work (psychotherapy and behavioral health) and athletics. I ended my athletic career in 2010 after winning the USATF Masters 100 mile National Championships and running an 18:11 hour race at the world famous Western States Endurance Run. I continue to run and cycle as it is part of my life and my personal positive "addiction".
My wife, (who is originally from London,) and I were married in 2007, we are continually striving for mutual understanding, fairness and compromise. We have two awesome kids, whom we adopted through the welfare system when they were both under 5.
We enjoy running, paddleboarding, camping and snowboarding, as well as hanging out with our furry and feathered family members - 3 dogs, 2 cats and a bunch of chickens!
